This wonderful Yoga, Dance and Music Combo workshop is unique.  I am delighted to be running it jointly with the lovely talented music and dance artist Michele Kaye. My part is the yoga and relaxation and Michele will be taking you through a powerful energising dance workout, Nia Technique

About Nia Dance and Michele Kaye 

Michele is a Nia Black Belt and also author of Eat, Dance Shine. She is one of the most fun, lively and magical people I have met.

Nia Technique is a barefoot holistic fitness that blends Eastern and Western movement philosophies with soulful music that resonates with people from every culture. It is a wonderful opportunity let go, free up the mind, body and spirit. I tried this for the first time with Michele a year ago and simply fell in love with it! It is such fun and uplifting. I cannot think of a more inspiring way to exercise the body and feel such an emotional release. It blends so well with yoga and many other martial practices like Qi Gong and Tai Chi. Nia is fitness for every part of your Body, Mind, Spirit and Emotions.

It is the first Fusion Fitness program of its kind, Nia is inspired by:

        Dance Arts – Jazz, Modern, Duncan

        Martial Arts – Aikido, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi, Qi Gong

        Healing Arts – Yoga, the work of Moshe Feldenkrais, The Alexander Technique

Nia blends a range of rhythmic music styles with carefully choreographed hour-long routines for Every Body and fitness level.

Half Day Programme 

9.30 - 9.45 - Registration and welcome 

9.45 - 10.15 - Gentle stretch and breathe

10.15 - 10.30 - The power of Mantras (what they are and some gentle fun practice) 

10.30 - 10.45 - Short break - Teas, decaf coffee, raw cacao drink (if you're up for it) healthy cake and fruit

10.45 - 12.00 - Nia Technique - Nia 5 stages of self healing followed by a choreographed routine to follow. Live percussion with Jez.

12.00 - 12.15 - Gentle yoga, cool down and relaxation. Refreshing the mantras and gentle live percussion with Jez.

12.15 - 12.30 - Feedback and close

I am so delighted also that Jez will be joining us after the coffee break. The atmosphere is so much more heightened with the sound of the different percussion instruments Jez uses throughout the whole workout with Michele. The drumming fills the body with a deeper healing vibration and the rhythm just flows.
